Rolled Oats

From $1.98

Rolled oats start out as oat groats that are de-husked, steamed and then rolled into flat flakes. They are an age old breakfast staple not only due to their many health benefits but also because they are super tasty to eat.

Recipe Ideas:

We recommend a bowl of cooked oats topped with your favourite fresh or dried fruit, a handful of pepitas, almonds and sesame seeds and a splash of honey or maple syrup. You can’t go wrong!. Other uses for oats include making your own homemade muesli mix, baking bread, muffins or cookies, or for bathing (they contain a compound known as Avenanthramide, which is soothing to the skin).

Interesting Facts about Rolled Oats:

The type of fibre found in oats is called beta-glucan. Studies have found that eating 3 grams of oat fibre per day (about the amount in a one-cup serving) can lower total cholesterol by 8% to 23%.
