Organic Hibiscus Tea

From $5.50

Organic hibiscus is a beautiful tea with the sweet rose flavour – hibiscus and sunshine put together. The hibiscus leaves are not only a gorgeous deep purple colour, they also impart healthy properties when consumed.

The Hibiscus tree grows in subtropical and tropical regions around the world and produces a large brightly coloured flower that has become the national symbol of Haiti, Malaysia and South Korea.  In India, the red hibiscus is a symbol of the Hindu goddess Kali and is often given in worship.

Health Benefits of Hibiscus

Hibiscus has been reported to have cholesterol-lowering effects, can help to balance blood sugar and has a positive effect on blood pressure.  Hibiscus is probably most well-known for its super high levels of anti-oxidants. These anti-aging molecules can protect cells from damage, reduce inflammation in the body and reduce your risk of illness.

How to use Hibiscus

Hibiscus has a sweet, tangy flavour and makes an uplifting blend in combination with peppermint or echinacea, the latter offering loads of vitamin C and immune support. Hibiscus is a great refreshing ice tea in the warmer months, simply make a batch and keep in the fridge.
