Nigella Seeds

From $3.50

The Nigella seed (also known by the names black cumin seed, black coriander, black seeds or kalonji) is a popular medicinal herb that has been described as being able to ‘cure everything other then death’. A powerful little seed with a delicious peppery flavour, nigella is full of nutrients and said to support with a long list of ailments including high blood pressure, asthma, sore throats, morphine addiction, psoriasis and cervical cancer to name a just a few.

Recipe Ideas:

With its elegant shape and jet black colouring, nigella is a popular decorative spice for tossing onto savoury biscuits, pastries, quiches or homemade breads (such as naan or turkish – though really you can sprinkle it onto any bread).

Our favourites: for added colour and flavour, sprinkle on top of a delicious leafy green salad, or on top of a smashed avocado breakfast. (Nigella is super yummy with avocado).

For guaranteed freshness, nigella seeds are best stored in an airtight container, away from any moisture.
